Everyone Loves a Spokesthing.

Forbes recently released its list of the Top 10 Spokescreatures. Topping the list, at pretty much no surprise, is the lovable and slightly ridiculous M&M guys – Red and Yellow (I think Miss Green needs a little loving too, but that’s neither here nor there).

Rounding out the list are:

#2. Geico Gecko (P.S. When did he become British?)

#3. (Tie) Aflac Duck & Poppin’ Fresh a.k.a The Pillsbury Doughboy

5. Tony the Tiger

#6. Energizer Bunny

7. Trix Rabbit

#8. Chester the Cheetah

#9. (Tie) Ronald McDonald & Lucky the Leprechaun

So next time you are branding a client, remember that there may be a placed for these loved icons. Because as Leo Burnett’s John Condon said,

“Icons don’t exactly get arrested or end up in rehab,” says John Condon, chief brand officer at Chicago-based Leo Burnett USA, with a laugh. “And they don’t demand to renegotiate their contracts either.”
