I Always Knew Men Were Apes
In a new campaign for Braun electric shavers, done by BBDO Dusseldorf, is a cute play on pictures that “Brings out the human in men.” Each ad features a different primate/ape and his human counterpart. The copy at the top of the ads reads two different times, five minutes apart – giving the idea of evolution over minutes instead of millions of years. Each also features a different Braun Series shaver, but all use the same tagline. Now, the idea between showing the similarities between a human and another animal/object is nothing new (think the old Honda commercials with owners who resembled their cars), I think these ads are pretty well done. They are simple, visually catching and pretty funny. A man who looks like an animal is a little less odd than someone who looks like a car…
