Yes, Jeep was There

This spot for Jeep takes us through the last 66 years of American history. In the spot you’ll notice Jeep is integrally apart of this history because of some great special effects due in part to The Mill/ L.A. The commercial by Cutwater shows Jeep has a rich tradition and has been evolving quite well with time. The cinematography in the commercial reminds me of a great movie? Forrest Gump, perhaps?

  1. I thought it was more Zelig-inspired.

  2. Yes, you can spot the idea in those two films and many other ads since. Some for Nike among them, I believe. So its a popular technique.

  3. And what’s up with the melancholy song lyrics in a spot that’s supposedly celebrating having fun?Did they just pick this song because they liked the tempo? I know these are Art Direction-centric times we live in, but the words are front and center in this song and they color the overall feeling of the spot. Seems like a disconnect here.
